To set the Quick Grip Clamp on the Dewalt drill: Place the clamp around the trigger button and pistol grip handle of the Dewalt drill. Repeatedly squeeze and released the large black plastic trigger on the clamp until it is tightened around the trigger button of the drill.

To increase the rpm of the drill: Slowly ratchet the Quick Grip Clamp tighter until the drill motor starts to rotate. The drill trigger is squeezed tighter with the clamp until a desirable rpm is reached. At a sufficient rpm the veterinarian can begin to use the PowerFloat so that an extra hand is free to grasp and manipulate the shaft or right angle area of the float. Hands free use such as this is often utilized for incisor teeth reductions.

To loosen or release the clamp: Squeeze the smaller trigger on the Quick Clamp that is situated just in front of the large trigger. This will immediately loosen and release the clamp from the Dewalt trigger button and stop the motor. Alternatively the clamp can simply be pulled off the Dewalt drill and the motor will stop.

Plug In PowerFloat Model: Contains a slider button which allows the motor rpm to be locked in at maximum rpms (4000 rpm). To release the slider button squeeze the Dewalt drill trigger button and the slider lock mechanism will release and the motor will stop.

Cordless PowerFloat Model: Does not contain a slider lock button and so does not have a self lock feature that can be used to set any rpm speed.
